Daytona Area Grand Prix Series Daytona Running Series
The Daytona Area Grand Prix Series commenced in 2003 and completed it's 15th season in April, 2018. Thank you Jerry & Beth Lardinois for originating the Series, and for 10 years of maintaining the Series Each year the Series consists of 10 individual running events within the Daytona Beach/Volusia County running community. Beginning with the 2015 - 2016 season, the Daytona Area Grand Prix Series became known as the Daytona Running Series, to better market the series on the web, though the original name will remain part of our history going forward. The 2023 - 2024 Season marked the 21st Running of the Grand Prix Series. The series is independent of any club or group or commercial entity, and is conducted as a non-profit service to the local running community. Each of the races in the series agrees to be part of the series, and contribute equal financial resources to support the awards at the end of each season. Runners accumulate points in each race of the series when they place 5th place or higher in their respective age groups. Runners must enter a minimum of 5 of the 10 races each season to be eligible for a post season award. Beginning with the 2017 - 2018 Season, Finisher Medals were awarded to those runner/walkers who completed a minimum of 5 of the events! More information is available in the Rules Link above.
